Make creamy garlic chicken with tender pan-seared chicken, fresh garlic, and a silky Parmesan cream sauce. An easy weeknight dinner ready in about 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Gather and measure the ingredients before you begin.
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium and cook garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add broth and scrape up browned bits. Simmer 2 minutes, then stir in cream, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning.
- Simmer gently 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened. Return chicken and juices to the skillet; spoon sauce over the top.
- Finish with parsley and serve with rice, pasta, or vegetables.
Tips for the best results
- Cook chicken to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Keep the sauce at a gentle simmer after adding cream.
- Half-and-half works for a lighter, less rich sauce.
Storage and serving
For best flavor and texture, serve as recommended above. Refrigerate perishable leftovers promptly in a clean, covered container and generally use cooked leftovers within 3–4 days. Reheat cooked dishes thoroughly. Salads and baked goods may require different storage based on their ingredients.
Recipe notes
Cooking times vary with equipment, ingredient size, and kitchen conditions. Adjust seasoning to taste and follow reliable food-safety guidance for meat, eggs, and other perishable ingredients.
